Which is the best area in Bangalore to stay in?

This is a question that is asked by all kinds of visitors that frequent this vibrant city of Bengaluru all the year round!
Bangalore attracts visitors from all over the world for a variety of reasons including engineering, medicine, technology, startups, leisure, sports, training, music, software development among many others.
You may be visiting just for a few days or even might be moving to settle down for good. Depending on the purpose of your visit, you should select the area to stay accordingly after doing thorough research and planning.

If you are travelling for a short duration of up to a few weeks for a specific purpose, you should definitely pick a hotel or serviced apartment that is close to your place of work. This will help you save time by avoiding traffic and give you the opportunity to explore the beautiful city.

Most large companies have their offices located in different areas spread across the city including Whitefield, Maratahalli-Bellandur-Sarjapur Outer Ring Road, Electronic City, Koramangala, Indiranagar and Nagawara.

Maratahalli-Bellandur-Sarjapur Outer Ring Road

The Maratahalli-Bellandur-Sarjapur Outer Ring Road area is a mega office suburb located at the eastern end of the city. This locality is packed with a variety of technology, finance and other multi-national companies with massive Grade-A office buildings located inside tech parks on the main roads, and multiple residential high rises in the interiors which mainly caters to the housing needs of the huge workforce of these companies.
The area is a fully self-sufficient urban suburb with it’s fair share of hotels, restaurants, and malls and multiplexes. The only bane of this area is the poor civic infrastructure.
Notoriously slow moving traffic, poor pedestrian facilities and water tankers are a common sight here. The BMRCL has envisaged bringing a metro rail line which will connect this entire stretch but this will take a few years to materialise and so it is advisable to stay as close to your workplace as possible, preferably at walking distance!
Some large companies in the area include Accenture, Dell, EMC, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Samsung, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan, Global Logic, Cognizant, Flipkart and ANSR Consulting among several others.

Whitefield

Whitefield is an old Anglo-Indian suburb of Bangalore with colonial bungalows and an old world charm which is now beautifully intertwined with it’s modern, high tech side.
Whitefield is home to several large corporations like Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Sabre, SAP, Accenture, Huawei, Capgemini, TESCO, Novo Nordisk, Technicolor and Reliance Jio among many others. ITPL (International Tech Park Limited) which happens to be Bangalore’s oldest office park is located in Whitefield. Also prominent in the area is the presence of some glitzy malls like Phoenix Marketcity, VR and Forum. Bang in the center of Whitefield is a large gated community called Prestige Shantiniketan which houses a mall, multiplex, 3000 apartments, a hotel and Grade-A office buildings.
The area will be connected by a metro train line by early 2022, with work in the final stages of completion. Several restaurants, bars and fast-food outlets make this one of Bangalore’s ideal micro-markets for the modern urban Indian!

Koramangala

Koramangala is an up-market area dominated by premium residential and retail buildings. The area is also home to a number of micro, small and medium enterprises which range from startups to traditional businesses. A landmark in the area is The Forum Mall developed by the Prestige Group. There are also several educational institutions in the area including Christ University, St Johns College & Hospital and Jyoti Nivas College. Koramangala is also famous for its vast range of eateries, restaurants bars and pubs which include budget and premium options. It is next only to Indiranagar in terms of the area with maximum number of food & beverage outlets in the city of Bangalore. We recommend staying at one of the many hotels or serviced apartments here if you are interested in shopping, retail and nightlife.

Indiranagar

Indiranagar is the high street retail capital of Bengaluru. Several top fashion brands have their flagship stores on 100 ft. road Indiranagar, which has become Bangalore's very own mini 5th avenue for retail and F&B. In 2018, Indiranagar was named the micro-market with the highest density of eateries in all of Asia! This makes this area a must visit for any foodie visiting the city of Bangalore. Indiranagar is also home to several startups, unicorns and mid-sized IT companies. It is in close proximity to Intermediate Ring Road and is the most buzzing area for night-life in Bangalore. Indiranagar does not have too many full scale hotels but there are some great serviced apartments which will put you bang in the middle of all the action!
Large companies in the area include CRED, Upgrad, Urban Ladder, KPMG, PWC, IBM, Fidelity, WeWork, Mistral Solutions, Unacademy, Dunzo and HAL among many others.
